COVID-19 INFORMATION

Below you will find the most recent releases from Nbisiing, Nipissing First Nation, and the Ministry of Education.

Return to In-Person Learning

Nbisiing will return to in-person learning on Monday, February 7th.

All students are required to complete the Vaccination Disclosure Form included below in the Vaccination Disclosure Policy prior, or upon return, to in-person learning. As an additional protection measure, all students will have access to voluntary rapid antigen testing should they choose to participate upon return to the school building.

Previous Updates:

Temporary School Closure - Virtual Learning beginning December 20, 2021

Nbisiing Secondary School will begin virtual learning on December 20 and 21, 2021 and will resume virtual learning on January 5th, 2022. The school intends to resume in person learning on Monday,
January 24, 2022. 

Students will be required to log into and participate in their classes virtually at their regularly scheduled times.

Technology Requirements

If students require their school laptop or an internet hotspot to access virtual learning, please email admin@nbisiing.com to arrange pick up or drop off of technology. 


Take-Home Rapid Antigen Screening Test Kits For Students

In an effort to promote a safer return to school after the winter break, Nbisiing will be providing a take-home rapid antigen screening kit to all students on behalf of the Government of Ontario. The rapid antigen screening kits are intended for use by any student that attends a First Nation's school, regardless of vaccination status. 
Please note, your child's participation in this rapid antigen screening is voluntary. Students are not required to participate in order to return to the classroom after the winter break.

Student's Personal Items 
As we transition quickly to remote learning, if students have left any personal items at the school that they require, please contact admin@nbisiing.com to arrange pick up of the items.
